In a tale of courage and claws, a fearless tabby cat saved the life of a bedridden 12 year outdated lady from a venom-spitting cobra snake in her bed room in Saraburi Province. The incident took place yesterday at the girl’s house in Kut Nok Plao Subdistrict. The cat, a feminine white and brown tabby, defended its young owner by standing guard over the snake and elevating the alarm, causing the woman to wake up in shock and run out of the room.
The lady, often recognized as Kaimuk, was at home with solely her elderly grandfather as her dad and mom have been out working. While she was asleep in her bedroom, a black cobra appeared by her mattress. Research , seeing the menace, jumped towards the snake, hissing loudly. On seeing the snake, the lady shortly fled the room and called her dad and mom for help.
Upon their return, the mother and father discovered the snake ready to strike at the cat, which stood its floor fearlessly. The cobra managed to spit venom at the cat, which hit its eyes, inflicting the cat to flee the room. The mother and father quickly closed the door, trapping the snake inside, and known as the Saraburi Reptile Rescue Team.
The officers discovered the cobra near a blanket by the little girl’s mattress. They used a steel hook to try to capture the snake. It managed to evade capture at first, spitting venom at the rescue staff. It then slithered beneath the blanket the place the rescue team lastly managed to capture it.
The snake was a Siamese Spitting Cobra, approximately 1 metre in size. The rescue staff placed the snake in a web bag to be launched again into the wild. Meanwhile, the girl’s mom washed out the cat’s eyes with saline solution, fearing that the venom would possibly trigger blindness. She expressed her gratitude to the cat for saving her daughter. Had the cat not intervened, the snake might have bitten her daughter.
The girl’s father, who was working in one other district, rushed home after receiving a name from his daughter. He said his daughter had not attended faculty that day because of a fever and was resting in her room with the cat. Usually, there was one other individual at residence, however that day, he was out working. When he obtained house, he noticed the snake coiled by the bed, with the cat standing guard. He then called the Reptile Rescue Team.
He was relieved that the rescue team caught the snake but was still apprehensive. He didn’t know if more snakes would come into the home because the captured snake was still younger.
He plans to take measures to prevent extra snakes from entering. He warned everybody to verify their bedding rigorously and maintain their rooms tidy. He wasn’t sure how the snake had entered the room but speculated that his daughter might need left the door open as she usually didn’t shut it correctly. This may have allowed the cobra to crawl into the room..
