Danish marine pump specialist Svanehøj has received an order from China’s Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding to provide gasoline pump systems for 15 new build dual-fuel LNG container vessels (7000 TEU).

The 30 deepwell fuel pumps shall be delivered between August 2022 and January 2024.
Efficient is one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders to date. It can additionally be the second LNG fuel pump systems order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has positioned with Svanehøj in the final 12 months. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to supply deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell gasoline pumps in 2021, and says there are many indications that gross sales might enhance even further in 2022.
“Until a few years ago, using LNG as a marine gas was limited to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we are actually seeing a sharp increase in gasoline pump orders for deep sea vessels similar to container ships and automobile carriers,” stated Johnny Houmann, chief sales officer at Svanehøj. “We had been chosen because the supplier of fuel pump systems for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we aim to extend our market share additional in the coming years.”
