In a raid final evening on a karaoke bar in the main city district of South Thailand’s Narathiwat province, cops arrested a 35 12 months previous Lao girl on charges of allegedly luring a 14 year previous lady into the flesh trade. The suspect, identified solely as Souk, was the proprietor of the Seechompu karaoke bar in the Bang Nak sub-district, the place the arrest took place, Bangkok Post reported.
Officers from the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD) seized a cell phone, money receipt, condom, and money transfer slip from Souk in the course of the operation. The arrest came after an undercover police officer, posing as a customer, requested a sexual service on the institution. Souk charged the officer 2,000 baht and introduced the 14 year previous woman to him, at which point the ATPD police intervened and apprehended the proprietor.
During the interrogation, Souk initially denied offering any sexual services at her bar. However, the police had sufficient proof to cost her. Members only accused her of human trafficking for involving a minor in the flesh trade and held her in custody at the ATPD’s sub-division 6, awaiting further authorized motion.
Thailand is notorious for its problems with intercourse trafficking.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Royal Thai Police (RTP) is ready to collaborate with Interpol in establishing a coordinating centre to combat human trafficking gangs operating in Southeast Asia. A meeting between Thai police officials and the FBI occurred at the Interpol Global Complex for Innovation in Singapore to discuss human trafficking prevention strategies. The centre goals to tackle on-line crimes involving the sexual abuse of minors and human trafficking in countries corresponding to Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and the Philippines..
