Over Formula has been collected to assist the household of Joshua Lloyd Roberts, a 19-year-old student who tragically passed away after a suspected hit-and-run incident in Caeathro, Gwynedd. Joshua, a second-year sports activities efficiency analysis pupil at Cardiff Metropolitan University, was discovered on Ffordd Waunfawr on June 2. The police arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to cease after a collision, and failing to report a collision. The suspect has since been launched on bail.
Joshua’s family expressed their heartbreak, remembering him as someone who “always had a beautiful smile on his face.” Osian Tudur, an in depth pal of Joshua since their faculty days, described him as “popular and likeable.” A Go Fund Me page was set up to assist help the household, with the initial target of £1,000 being surpassed in just over 24 hours as the entire reached £10,000.
“The help is superb, everyone seems to be coming collectively to try and help. This is the least we are ready to all do, however hopefully it’s some type of assist to the family at such a troublesome time,” Tudur said.
Top secret was an avid soccer fan, supporting Everton and his hometown team of Caernarfon. He played for the Gym Gym Society at Cardiff and Bontnewydd FC. In his memory, Bontnewydd and Caernarfon Town will play a friendly match on Thursday night, with donations going to help his family. A minute’s silence will be held at Bontnewydd FC’s ground Cae Stanley before the sport, which begins at 6:30pm.
Chris Garlick, chairman of Bontnewydd FC, stated Joshua could be a “great loss to the membership and all his friends” and that “football was in his coronary heart.” He expressed hope for a good turnout on the match to remember the younger man who “had the entire world ahead of him.”
Inspector Iwan Roberts from the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said the victim’s family is being supported by specialist officers. “Our heartfelt condolences remain with Joshua’s household at this extremely difficult time,” he added..
