Integrating its growing vary of merchandise into engineered-to-order (ETO) solutions is increasingly a way of life at Weir Minerals. The current launch of its dredge-mounted Multiflo® Mudflo™ pump reveals how effective this method can be, and the way much it could contribute to customers’ bottom traces.

WEIR MINERALS INTEGRATES KEY BRANDS IN MUDFLOW™ PUMP
Integrated solutions are what separates gear suppliers from answer suppliers, argues Marnus Koorts, basic manager pump merchandise at Weir Minerals Africa – and the just lately launched Multiflo® Mudflo™ pump exhibits how this is done.
This dredge/excavator-mounted, mud-pumping innovation was launched final 12 months, after being developed in response to a challenge which a customer faced, says Koorts. It is a heavy obligation hydraulic submersible slurry pump designed for abrasive purposes and huge particle dealing with. Its software is primarily in reprocessing and relocating tailings ponds, maintaining water retention dams and managing slimes and sludge ponds.
“The Multiflo Mudflo pump efficiently combines elements of the Warman MGS submersible slurry pump-end, and a customized Multiflo designed bearing assembly coupled to a hydraulic motor,” he says. “Another key ingredient is the pairing of twin Multiflo CB33 hydraulic cutters with Weir ESCO excavation enamel.”
The cutters mechanically agitate the settled solids, allowing abrasive and extremely charged slurries and mud to be efficiently pumped. He emphasises that the elements making up the Multiflo® Mudflo™ pump are drawn from Weir Minerals proven brands, and are carefully mixed to supply an built-in resolution that saves prospects time and money. It also reduces environmental impression, by avoiding the pricey and energy-intensive course of excavating and trucking the fabric off site.
“The pump design includes Weir Minerals’ Ultrachrome A05 chrome alloy casting for high put on resistance,” he says. “There is also a suction strainer to stop excessively giant particles clogging the pump.”
This ensures that the unit delivers optimum uptime alongside high efficiency ranges: the Mudflo™ 200 pump is able to pumping between one hundred fifty m3/h and 1,200 m3/h, up to a head of eighty two metres. The pump can deal with a maximum particle measurement of eighty mm, and a most liquid temperature of 35°C.
“While our integration of products has grown organically through the years, it has turn out to be more systematic and deliberate as our product range has grown and turn out to be extra diverse,” says Koorts. “The means we have developed this answer shows the progress in recent times toward integrating our product traces to add value to our choices.”
He notes that the method of ETO ensures that options developed by Weir Minerals’ engineering groups ship extra value than the sum of their component components. In this case, the company’s dewatering consultants have been able to attract on the most effective technology from Weir Minerals’ Multiflo®, Warman® and Weir ESCO® brands – combining them with superior hydraulics to create an innovative result.
“Our intensive footprint within the field and our shut collaboration with prospects every day provides us an in depth understanding of their specific requirements,” he says. “ Nest egg can due to this fact be sure that our innovations are match for objective, being based on our considerable ETO capability and technical excellence.”
