In another romance rip-off case, a Dutchman is trying to get 4 million baht from his former girlfriend, a girl from Sakhon Nakhon province in northeast Thailand, who he says deceived him into sending her tens of millions for land and a house before abandoning him.
The Thai lady says it’s the Dutchman who is within the incorrect for beginning a relationship with her when he was already married to another girl.
Yesterday, sixty two year previous Peter from Holland, travelled to Udon Thani Provincial Court with well-known lawyer Kirssada “Nobi” Lohitdee to file a four million baht lawsuit against an unnamed Thai girl.
Downloadable claims the girl deceived him into pondering the pair would have a future together, which he needed to cough up cash for.
Blinded by love, Peter bought his home in Holland and despatched the cash to his Thai girlfriend. He says he despatched her 5 million baht in complete.
One day, she minimize ties with Peter, changed jobs and moved provinces. The couple’s romance ended but Peter by no means got his money back, he claims.
One month in the past, Peter posted a video on TikTok telling his story…
“My identify is Peter. What I am about to tell all of you is a true story. I met a girl from Sakhon Nakhon (in Isaan) via Thai Cupid. We talked and later met in Udon Thani province, where she labored. She started to talk about our future. I bought her a gold necklace and deliberate our marriage ceremony.
“I didn’t manage to pay for to purchase land and a home in Udon Thani so we agreed that I would promote my home in Holland. I bought it and despatched the money to her, for our future.
“I couldn’t journey to Thailand from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic but I stored sending her cash till I was broke. I needed to borrow money from the financial institution and my household as a end result of she promised she would return the money.
“I tried everything for our house and land however I didn’t hear from her after that. She didn’t return the money, changed jobs, and moved to different provinces. I was shocked and had a huge drawback with my family and the financial institution.”
The ex-girlfriend claims that Peter is exaggerating. She says he solely despatched her 300,000 – 400,000 baht, which she is willing to give back.
She says it was she who was deceived. She claims she left Peter when she found out he was already married to a different Thai girl.
On February 4, attorneys helped Peter to file a fraud case – with financial institution slips and videos as evidence – at Ban Dung Police Station.
The alleged love scammer was summoned to acknowledge her expenses on Valentine’s Day. But she didn’t show up. The police will summon her once more on February 28.
As for the charges, the police have not confirmed exactly which costs were filed towards the lady.
Lawyer Nobi mentioned, “I need this case to be an example for Thai people not to act this manner, particularly with foreigners. It damages Thailand’s status.”
Peter mentioned that he is not going to be falling for a romance scam once more. He says he knows that not all Thai individuals are dangerous people, and he’s undecided whether or not he is willing to date a Thai once more.
He stated he’ll keep in Thailand till the end of the month and then fly back to Holland until there is another court case..
